What you need to know about 5 times table
Amongst many multiplication methods, skip counting in 5s is extremely easy and fast. At the start, you can try to skip count in 5s aloud.
It goes thus 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40, 45, 50, 55, 60
Notice that every number ends with either 5 or zero.
This helps to tell you that in the multiply by 5 test;
- an even number multiplied by 5, the product ends with zero (i.e: 5 x 6 = 30),
- while the product of an odd number multiplied by 5, ends with 5 (i.e: 5 x 3 = 15).
